Weston produced the first real light meter in 1932, and carried on manufacturing. The high quality range of light meters until July 1984 when the company finally went into liquidation after a number of takeovers. A company based in Tottenham, in the UK manufacturer a product called the Megatron from the parts obtained as a result of liquidation of the Western company. Over the years many professional photographers the world over have delighted in the use of their western exposure meters.
